Leaving from the lower station of the Champéry-Planachaux cable-car, head down the main road towards Grand Paradis. After about 500m, take the pedestrian trail on your right in the direction of the Accrobranche du Dahu adventure park, passing under the main road and continuing towards La Lui, crossing the Saufla River and following the signs for Roc Coupé. At about 1,478m, cross the Saufla River again on the Belle-Etoile suspension bridge and continue towards the Refuge de Bonaveau. From the Refuge, at 1,550m, take the path for Barme, in the direction of Sous la Dent (1626m). From there, you'll head downhill into the Barme Valley, turning right to cross the plateau. On the other side, take the path that leads up the side of the valley to the Berroi Ridge. This is the famous 'Smuggler's Trail', which leads to the Col de Cou (1,921m), and the border with France. When you arrive at the old border post, take the trail behind the building and climb upwards along the Fornet Ridge. Pass the Pointe de Fornet at 2,298m, continue across the Bassachaux Pass and, at the Chavanette Pass, begin your descent towards Les Crosets, taking the trail under the chairlift. At the trail intersection, turn left onto the gravel fire-road, passing underneath the Pauvre Conche chairlift. At 1872m, take the right-hand trail, then at 1800m, head left towards the centre of Les Crosets. Arrival point at 1679m. Return to Champéry by Les Crosets chairlift and the Champéry-Croix de Culet cable-car.
