This itinerary allows you to discover the central part of the Valsavarenche valley, left side of the Savara torrent. From the village of Dégioz, you first climb to Orvieille, the former hunting camp of King Victor Emmanuel in the 19th century. You continue to Djouan, an alpine pasture where you can taste Fontine, the famous Valle d'Aostan cheese, produced with the raw milk of the cows of the alpine pasture. The itinerary will then take you to the Djouan lake before continuing to the Col Manteau, where you can enjoy the magical silence and the exceptional landscape. You will then descend to the village of Eaux-Rousses via Les Meyes, to return to Dégioz. On the way back, you will pass through the villages of Bien, Nex and Tignet where you can admire the typical architecture of the valley's hamlets. This route is one of the most beautiful but least known in the valley, with the discovery of century-old forests, abundant wildlife and majestic rocks!
